Goal
Capacity expansion engages stakeholders to develop strategic and technical research plans supporting DOE’s goals and initiatives.
Planned major accomplishments
- Develop a national roadmap for all-inclusive fleet capacity expansion including deployment of new nuclear reactor technology
- Participate in the Capacity Expansion Working Group (CXWG) to exchange information with utilities, equipment and fuel vendors, engineering companies, nuclear support institutes, and regulatory agencies
- Influence regulatory framework for rapid nuclear capacity expansion
UPRISE – (Utility Power Reactor Incremental Scaling Effort) Alignment
- Capacity Expansion Pathway directly supports the Department of Energy UPRISE initiative
